Chinese New Year

I know, I know, it's a little late....but today we learned all about Chinese New Year! What fun we had checking out all sorts of cool things, and learning about their cultures traditions.....we also got to eat some yummy snacks, and we took home some cool traditional Chinese New Years things! Fun!

Our New Snake!

Yay!!!! We got a new snake! This weekend, Mrs. Mason bought a little California King snake that is SO CUTE!!! It's good, since your kids have been asking me since we got our new cage about what we were going to put in there, they have been so excited. They were not disappointed, they were so excited to meet our new snake, and the class voted and named him Slither. He is CUTE! All of the kids either held him, or petted him, and today several who only wanted to pet him yesterday came back to hold him today! What fun!

Chocolate Chip Cookies....YUM!!!!!

Mrs. Mason LOVES making chocolate chip cookies, they are SO GOOD! So she figured her Kindergarteners would love making (and eating) the cookies too......she was right. On Friday we decided to make chocolate chip cookies, we went over halves, and we all got to put ingredients in and stir the cookies to make the yummy, yummy dough....we talked about how parents can let us eat the cookie dough raw, but that Mrs. Mason can't let us, since there are raw eggs in there (much to all of the Kinder's disappointment), and then we baked our cookies, and ate them! Woohoo!

Grandparent's day!

Oh what fun we had at Grandparent's day, it was so wonderful to see our Grandparents and to be reminded of what a blessing our family is! We performed a fun song for our Grandparents, and recited a funny poem, and our very own Madison also played a song on the piano for the entire room of Grandparents! Way to go Madison!!! After they were all done with their lunch and show, our Grandparents came back to our room to see where we go to school, they helped us with a project, and they explored our Kindergarten room with us! Then some of the kids got to go home with their Grandparents!!! For those of us who stayed, we had a couple of different cooking projects, including making a fun and edible bug, and decorating some cookies! What a great day we had, and we were so thankful to all of the Grandma's and Grandpa's who made it out to see us!
