Recycling with Miss Keener!

We learned about Recycling for Social Studies in Miss Keener's room today! We had so much fun learning about the different kinds of recycling there are, and about how we should all recycle!

Then we got to break up into groups.
We had fun making something that we could recycle out of clay!

We also got to sort our recycling during a fun game!

And we got to use our imagination and some really cool paper to draw pictures of things we can recycle!

The Snake!

We learned all about our snake last Friday, one of the things we learned was that snake's jaws aren't attached, so they can open their mouths a lot wider than we can.....we had to try it to prove that it was true! Also important thing we learned....we always have to wash our hands after holding the snake, and that snakes smell with their tounges!!!
Verdict? Yup, snakes can open their mouths wider!

Water Science Experiement!

We invited Miss Keener's class over yesterday and we all did some fun science experiments with water! We had a great time and learned a lot! A few of the things we learned were our three forms of water, and the fact that liquid changes shape, gas changes shape, and solid doesn't change shape. We guessed what would sink and what would float (we were wrong on that one a lot!). We learned about evaporation, and the fact that heat makes ice melt faster. We had a lot of fun!

Here we are learning about our three forms of water, liquid, solid, and gas!
And above, we are looking at if liquid changes shape! We found out that liquid changes shape, gas changes shape, and solid does not change shape!

Our attentive listeners!
Does gas change shape? Yes!!!

Then we found out what makes ice melt faster. Does cold make it melt faster, or heat? We found out that heat made it melt faster!
First Mrs. Mason showed us, and then we got to find out for ourselves that heat melted the water faster! (don't worry parents, we were well supervised!)
And after we did the whole experiment as a class, we got to find out for ourselves what sinks and what floats in water!!!
Miss Keener helped us out with that one!
And Mrs. Summers helped us find out for ourselves if liquid changed shape!

Overall, it was a great day full of fun experiments!!!
