A Train Trip to see Bob Barner

What a wonderful field trip we had!!! We loaded up first thing in the morning, and rode the bus to Martinez Amtrak. When we got there, we waited on the platform for the train, and then got on and rode the train to Jack London Square. We had so much fun on the train, and for a lot of us, it was our very first time on a train!!!
When we got to Jack London Square, we took a trek from the train station, all the way to Barnes and Noble. When we got there, award winning author Bob Barner was waiting for us, with his books and a radio....boy were we curious!!!

Bob Barner was great! He told us about his books, and drew us three pictures (for each of our three classes!) while listening to music. He told us how he got inspired to create the books and drawings that he creates, and showed us how to draw a little bit!
At the end of the afternoon, Barnes and Noble wonderfully provided us with milk and cookies, and Bob signed all of the books that we wanted to buy. Then we walked back to the train station, got back on the train and rode back home! What a fun, full day it was!!!

Starbucks Center!

The past several weeks we have had a "Starbucks" center, where one of our center teams is the "workers" and one of them is the "customers". It has been great to peek in on the conversations that go on, they have had a great time playing the customers and workers, and their "dramatic play" time has really been enhanced through this center!

Thanksgiving part 2

Well, we had a great start to a morning, and then we continued with the festivities on through the afternoon! We donned our thanksgiving garb, and made all of our wonderful parents dress up in their pilgrim hats, and we ate a WONDERFUL feast that our parents provided for us. Wow, it was a full turkey dinner! Happy thanksgiving to us! We had a great time, and we were so blessed by all of the parents who were able to join our dinner, it was wonderful to have you all!!!
