All four butterflies are now out of their Crysalis'!!! We had so much fun seeing them today for the first time since they've been out. Not only did we get to see the beautiful butterflies, but we got to touch the remains of the Crysalis', which was really cool! Our butterflies are beautiful creatures, and we have to be gentle with them!

Easter Party!
We had so much fun at our Easter party. We took off running in the morning, and didn't stop until 12:00!! First thing we did was made Easter Bonnets and had an Easter Parade in Mrs. Owen's classroom. Then started our pizzas. Your excellent cooks rolled out their own bit of pizza dough, spread their sauce on, and put cheese on, then picked their toppings and put it on. After that we decorated some cupcakes, then decorated an egg, and then ate our wonderful pizzas! (and they were good!!!). Then Ms. Keeners class joined us and we had a fun Easter candy hunt, and then had a beautiful cake (provided by my wonderful sister!), and watched an Easter movie. Man, it was full and fun!!!

Pretzel Making
Did you know that pretzels were originally made by a monk, and stood for the praying hands (they use to pray with their hands crossed over their chest). And did you also know that they were eaten during Easter time??? Well, we read an awesome story by Eric Carle yesterday called Walter the Baker....now, it didn't tell us the REAL story of pretzels, but it told a pretty awesome story. Then we talked about how people use to eat pretzels during Easter....so we just had to make them and eat them ourselves. I think we should open a bakery, because your kids make some awesome food! They made their pretzels, they kneeded the dough, they let it rise and punched it down, they rolled it out and formed it into the pretzel shape, they boiled their pretzels (with some help from Mrs. Mason, of course!), we baked the pretzels, and then we ate them....and they tasted so good!

Ben the Bunny!
Ethan and his mom Julie were so kind to share their bunny with our kindergarten class today. Ben the bunny was so cute and cuddly, and he hopped around the classroom. We all got to pet him and to see how soft bunnys are! Thank you Ethan and Julie, for sharing your bunny with us today, he was a wonderful bunny to meet!
The Diet Coke goes BOOM!
We were so excited to be invited to Mrs. Owen's 2nd grade experiment today! We all met out on the field after lunch and learned a little about what they've been learning in class....energy. She showed us energy in action by taking a diet coke 2 liter, putting a pack of mentos in it, and making an awesome geiser!!! It was so much fun to watch! We can't wait until we get into second grade to do the experiment ourselves! Click on the picture to get a better look, some of the looks on your kids faces are priceless!!!
