We made 3, yes 3 batches of friendship bread today. We had to have enough to send everyone home with a starter, so 3 it was! It was a great time, and we had a lot of fun making it. I must say, your children are wonderful cooks, because the bread turned out moist and yummy, and it was so much fun to eat! We also were able to show we were friends because not only did we get to eat it, but we were able to share our friendship bread with Ms. Keener's kindergarten class, and our buddies too! It was a lot of fun!

The snake comes to visit.
Mrs. Mason's husband found a snake last week, so naturally we had to bring it to class. He doesn't exactly have a name yet, but he is a little gopher snake, and he is cute! Ask your kids about Gopher snakes, they will tell you all about them! We learned about how they imitate rattle snakes to scare preditors, how they smell with their tounge, they are cold blooded (and of course, that we are the opposite) and that they are constrictors. All the kids have loved holding him, and the most important thing we've learned is that we always, always wash our hands after holding snakes or any other reptiles!

The naming of the Caterpillers
We have some Painted Lady caterpillers that have recently joined our class, and we are waiting with baited breath for them to turn into butterflys....but while we wait, we had to give them names, right? So we brainstormed this morning to come up with the perfect caterpiller names. They are as follows:
Sam
Amanda (also named "Dorie", it's her nickname)
Marsha
and Sonny.
And there you have it, our caterpillers names. Hopefully they'll all make it through to butterfly land!

Spring Concert
As you well know, all of your children did wonderful during the Spring Concert this past Thursday. I was amazed that not only did everyone say their lines so nicely, but no one froze when they were up on stage either! How wonderful! They did a super job, and they all looked so incredibly dashing that night! Your kids clean up well!
"Egg"cellent Experiment!
On Wednesday we found out how many books we could pile on an egg before it broke. I know, I know, it sounds messy, and it was, but it was so much fun to see that we could put a lot more books on there then we expected. Although a couple of us guessed far into the hundreds, and even millions, most of us had reasonable guesses of 3 or 4 books before the egg cracked. Little did we know that one little egg could hold 29, yes 29 books! We found out that eggs are so strong because the arch is one of the best support systems around! Mostly it was fun to see when the egg cracked though!
Random Pictures
We love to play, especially with the toys in our classroom. Some of our most entertaining moments are playing with the toys. I love when your kids decide they are all dinosaurs and chase after each other...eventually someone gets caught and eaten, but I guess that's what dinosaurs do, right? Or when they just need to have the food because they are feeding a starving puppy. Or when they decide they are going to build wonderful castles. It is so wonderful to see your children with their amazing little imaginations at work every day! It's rare to see a video on in the classroom (except, of course, Friday!) because it is so much fun to listen to their adventures that they have when they are left to their own devices. Your childrens imaginations take them amazing places, it is such a blessing to be able to listen in on those wonders!
Our Buddies
We love our fourth grade buddies! We are buddies with Mrs. Jones fourth grade class, and they are the best! We try our best to share with them whenever we have a birthday or a special occasion, and our buddies come in every Friday and read to us, and say hi to us when they see us around school. It is so wonderful to have that connection with our buddies, and we are always so excited to see them every Friday!
Christmas performance and party
Christmas was a fun and crazy time, with many projects going on, plus a performance on top of it! The kids did wonderfully though. We had an awesome Christmas party, complete with birthday hats and a birthday cake to Jesus (complements of my wonderful sister!). It was a bittersweet time though, because it also was our last day with Ethan S. as a part of our class. It was so sad to see him go, and we miss having him in class. We've been able to see him since then though, and it has been wonderful to have him visit!
Thanksgiving Party
I do have pictures from our Pumpkin Patch field trip, but they are at school right now, so I will wait to post them. This was our first real party of the school year, but not to be the last! The kids had a great time making their feathered headdresses and paper bag vests. I accidentally got paint on the sidewalk from those vests...oops!

A day at the Pumpkin Patch!
We went to the pumpkin patch at Fair Oaks Baptist Church in October. We had such a fun time, including getting read to by the "great pumpkin", singing songs, doing crafts, and getting our face painted. On top of all of that we got to eat lunch at the park and play! A big thank you to Michelle Hall for taking all of these wonderful pictures! It was a great time, we all had so much fun!
